Peanut has her wings

I haven't kept up with posting on here as Peanut had been having health issues.  First she had elevated liver enzymes, then she had a rectal prolapse.  Plus she has had ongoing chronic sinus issues.  She had emergency surgery to repair the prolapse but the sutures prevented her from pooping so they were removed.  I was told if it returns she would probably have to be pts as the surgery didn't properly fix it the first time and that it would continue to return as there is damage to the tissues and muscles.

A rectal prolapse is extremely rare in bunnies, she had an ultrasound to see if we could find the cause.  They also wanted a look at her liver.  Unfortunately nothing was seen on the ultrasound, so nothing could be done.  She had another prolapse in the middle of September, I was sure she would have to be pts, but it corrected itself and I had a few more wonderful weeks with her.

Sadly the prolapse returned last night with heavy bleeding.  So I had to take her to be pts.  Her mate Fuzz was with her and so far seems to be okay.  I'm worried about him.

She was such a special bunny and had been with me almost 7 years.  She was my first rescue bunny and was with me through thick and thin.  I miss her so much and there is a gaping hole in my heart.

I don't think I'll be able to continue with this blog, but I hope to keep up with my other blog "The Bunny Slave"  Check it out for bunny updates.

Thank you

Opal isn't going anywhere!

Finally my slave caved and adopted Opal. We all knew she wasn't going anywhere, but it took awhile for it to become official. She is now here to stay!
She was a stray and was found with grease stains on her beautiful white fur. It took awhile for them to grow out, no amount of washing helped. She went to the vet for a check-up this week and got a clean bill of health. She may have some problems with her teeth in the future, but they are still fine for now. Hopefully all the yummy hay she gets now will help even them out.

Can you tell this maple leaf blanket is the official bunny blanket? It is very soft and we all enjoy laying on it or digging it up! So you will probably see it in lots of pictures! If it ever stops raining we may get some pictures of us bunnies outside in our very own yard! We are very excited since we haven't had a yard before.

We are back with a new arrival!

Sorry for the delay, we've had some computer issues and my slave has been very busy. But she promised me we would be posting a little more regularly now.

We have a new addition to the army! Her name is Pearl. She was an Easter present for a 3 year old girl and was quickly forgotten. Her owner was going to send her off to be someone's dinner, but my slave couldn't let that happen. She looks like a Flemish/New Zealand cross and weighs around 10 pounds. She is a very nice bunny. I'm always happy to have new members of my army.

Here she is pictured with a size 8 flip flop, she is a very big bunny! The largest member of my army.

Thanks for reading!

Hoppy Birthday Charlie!

Little Charlie is 7 years old today!  He has really bad teeth but is such a little trooper.  He loves his meds, I just hold out the syringe and he comes running.  He got lots of treats and snuggles today :)
